He’s been linked with the Bianconeri for over a year, and calciomercato.com claims that in the latter days of the Della Valle era a deal was agreed in principle for a five-year contract worth €5m per season.

The new owner has pledged not to sell Chiesa though, and selling him to Juve would cause fury among the Fiorentina fans.

Calciomercato reports that the 21-year-old will meet with Commisso, along with sporting director Daniele Pradè, in New York on July 23 and will ask to be sold.

Chiesa wants to leave and the President doesn’t want to sell, but the uncertainty is causing difficulties on the transfer market.

Aleksa Terzic and Pietro Terracciano are the only two arrivals so far this summer, and selling Chiesa could fund the transfer campaign.

Fiorentina are asking for €60-70m for the youngster, though both the club hierarchy and Coach Vincenzo Montella are imploring him to stay.

The website also notes that since April 2 Chiesa’s Instagram account hasn’t featured any Fiorentina pictures, only ones of him with Italy and personal pictures.
