Juventus seem set to rely on Italy duo Federico Chiesa and Moise Kean against Chelsea on Wednesday, and the duo have already proved they can deliver together in Serie A.

The youngsters are hungry for Europe and Juve are depending on the Italy internationals against the reigning European champions on Wednesday.

Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata are ruled out with injuries until after the international break and Allegri is expected to replace the two with Kean and Chiesa up front against the Blues.

Chelsea have only conceded three goals so far this season and Juventus will play both Chiesa and Kean for the first time since the 3-2 win over Spezia.

Kean scored his first goal since returning to Turin against the Aquilotti, when Chiesa helped turn 1-2 into 3-2 in the second half.

It was Chiesa’s only goal in five Serie A games this term and the former Fiorentina man did not play in the 3-0 win over Malmö FF in the first round of this year’s Champions League.

Chiesa, who scored four times in eight Champions League games last term, has already experienced the ups and downs of the prestigious competition.

His brace against FC Porto in the knockout stages wasn’t enough to help Juventus advance in the competition.

Kean played five times in the Champions League during his first stint with the Old Lady but has yet to score in the competition with the club. He did, however, contribute three goals in nine appearances with Paris Saint-Germain last term.

If Allegri decides to continue in a 4-4-2 formation, he’s expected to start with Chiesa and Kean up front, but he could also opt for a 3-5-2 with Chiesa on the wing and Dejan Kulusevski next to the former Everton striker up front.

7 thought on “Chiesa and Kean take centre stage against Chelsea”
  1. He has to mirror Tuchel’s formation to have a hope of getting a result. Big game needed from the Juve players because their performances lately haven’t been convincing.

  2. Kulusevski and Kean up front. Yikes! They won’t even get a sniff at Chelsea’s goal given the intensity they play at in the Premier League and what we’ve seen so far with Juve. If they are able to repeat the first half against Milan then they might have a chance but with Morata and Dybala out, I see this only as a Chelsea win or a draw at best. Hopefully Lukaku is in the lineup so he can disappear against another big team again.

  3. i would go with the classic 442.
    szczsney
    danilo——de ligt—bonucci—-sandro
    cudrado—–bentancur—locatelli—bernardeshi
    chiesa—kean

its my believe that kean has talent to be more clinical finisher than morata. but he got to prove it.

  4. A classic 4-4-2 would be eaten alive by Tuchel’s tactics. They’ll be outnumbered in attack and midfield and their only hope would be counter attacks or set pieces. A 3-5-2 makes sense but it depends how much faith Max has in his players because 3-5-2 makes every player put one hell of a shift in. We’ll see!

  5. Sadly they will be starved of service. Allegri knows his two forwards are injured and I will not be surprised if they go even more defensive to grind out a draw. The problem is English teams press for the entire game and this current squad cannot keep clean sheets. I think Allegri might go 11-0-0

  6. 3-5-2
    Schenzy
    Bonucci, Chiellini, Delight
    Cuadrado,Bentacur, Locatelli, Rabiot, Sandro
    Chiesa and Kean
