Italy beat Great Britain to the Olympic gold medal in the 4x100m by just 0.01 of a second, and some gave Giorgio Chiellini the credit again.
The English must be starting to get a complex about Italians in sport this summer after losing the UEFA EURO 2020 final on penalties and now this medal right at the death.
Much like Leonardo Bonucci’s equaliser after an early Luke Shaw goal, Italy came from behind to win this race too, with Filippo Tortu chasing down Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake of Britain to just beat him on the line.
Some Internet wags had fun with the two events, theorising Chiellini had again been decisive by grabbing a Brit by the back of the collar to slow him down, photoshopping him into the image of the race.
Bukayo Saka replaced by Mitchell-Blake, but the result is the same: Italy take the trophy, England left with the consolation prize.

while ITALI is on 9 place with
10gold 10silver 20 bronze, 40 all.
Also, it is tripod to compare football and athletics. In football Italy shown that without rudeness they cannot win the European cup at all.
Not sure what tripod you’re referring to Gancho GANCHEV, didn’t know you needed one in Athletics (except for photography maybe).
As for rudeness, if it wins trophies then maybe more coaches should use it as part of their training programme.
To be fair team Italy didn’t need Chiellini holding team GB back. That Tortu looked even faster than Spina + that’s sayin’ something! It is funny that England have been giving it large all summer but keep losing! It’s like how many times does the hamster have to tread the wheel before the message hits home!

First off, that’s team GB, it’s a good point but 4th place isn’t 1st is it? And it is funny that Italy keeps pipping them to the post because I competed at Tkd + you don’t say you’re the best beforehand? All it does, on top of sounding disrespectful, is wind the opposition up + put pressure on yourself! Italy only won on pens but they also won because they played the best football + were the most complete side in that tournament. England were good but they had every advantage going into that Final (Home + the less complicated side of the draw) but Italy were just that little bit better. And trying to put the blame on Italy’s gamesmanship just sounds bitter, when the only sound that should be heard is all us Englishmen eating more pasta! : )
