Italy captain Giorgio Chiellini seems set to renew with Juventus but had reportedly decided to move away before Max Allegri returned to the Allianz Stadium.

The 36-year-old is set to star in the defence against Spain in the EURO 2020 semi-final at Wembley tonight, leading the defence in his 111th appearance with the Azzurri.

With the dream of reaching the Final, he aims to prolong his time with the Nazionale before returning to the Bianconeri.

Chiellini’s contract with the club expired on June 30 and he has yet to sign a new deal with the Old Lady.

La Repubblica reports he is certain to stay at Continassa for another year and reunite with coach Allegri.

But the newspaper reveals Chiellini had already decided to move to the MLS, before the coach from Livorno returned and has put the captain back at the centre of the plans in 2021-22.
