Giorgio Chiellini refuses to rule out a possible Juventus exit in the summer: ‘I must evaluate many things…’

The veteran defender sees his contract expire in June 2023, but he could decide to leave the Allianz Stadium one year earlier. Italy’s elimination from the World Cup play-offs could convince Chiellini to move to the MLS at the end of the season or even hang his boots.

“I enjoy the days, I am happy and serene, I must understand and evaluate many things,” the defender said on Monday during the unveiling of Davide Lippi’s new agency Reset Group.

“I think about the games in the meantime and I enjoy them.”

Lippi has been Chiellini’s only representative during his career as a professional footballer. The son of the legendary coach Marcello also refused to rule out Chiellini’s Juventus exit saying that he will decide his future in the coming weeks.

“I’ve known Davide since 2001, we have a close bond and we’ve grown together,” added Chiellini. “I’ve never thought about putting our rapport in doubt and after 20 years, we are still here.”

Chiellini has spent 17 seasons at Juventus and is the only player of the golden era to have won all the nine Serie A titles in Turin. He has played 554 games in a Bianconeri shirt, winning 19 trophies. The 37-year-old captained Italy to win Euro 2020 last summer.
