Italy veteran Giorgio Chiellini was the Under-21 captain in the first ever match at the renewed Wembley and tonight – 5,223 days later – he leads the Azzurri out in the Final of the European Championship.

The Juventus defender and Azzurri captain is the only player who participated in the first ever game at new Wembley who still actively plays football.

Then it was all about Giampaolo Pazzini, who scored the first hat-trick at the new ground and wrote his name into Wembley folklore at the revamped stadium.

But his three goals was not enough to secure the Azzurrini a win in London in March 2007 and the only player still active from that match is Chiellini.

Tonight, it’s all about the 36-year-old Italy captain, who prepares the Azzurri for the UEFA Euro 2020 Final against England at the famous ground.
