The Bianconeri are gearing up for their eighth consecutive Scudetto and the Champions League quarter-final against Ajax.

They earned that opportunity by beating Atletico Madrid 3-0 on Chiellini’s 500th competitive appearance for Juventus.

“It was certainly a special evening and to celebrate it with a victory like that to continue our Champions League adventure was the icing on the cake,” the captain told JTV.

“A couple of weeks have passed and I think we’ve fully realised what happened, so are now even more fired up for these final two months of the season. We want to do something special and continue experiencing those emotions that we felt against Atletico.

“The Juventus Stadium had created this magical atmosphere that we hadn’t felt for a while here in Turin. I think it was an exceptional boost that we felt from the start, making it a different game from all the others, so we want to feel that again.

“There will certainly be the opportunity against Ajax, but right now it is important to concentrate on Serie A. We have a good advantage at the top of the table, but want to get the Scudetto sorted as soon as possible.”

Chiellini was asked if there was a particular game from the 500 that stood out for him.

“There are so many, as over 500 matches I’ve experienced highs and a few lows. I rejoiced and cried, so had a bit of everything, but those emotions will always be with me and it was an honour to share them with so many champions.

“Hopefully, the best is yet to come. At my age, I really am relishing every moment, because I take it day by day and don’t set limits.”
