The Azzurri host Switzerland at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Friday before visiting Northern Ireland the following Monday.

Italy are on even points with Switzerland on top of Group C, but with a better goal difference.

Lorenzo Pellegrini and Nicolò Zaniolo returned home on Monday while Ciro Immobile pulled out of the Italy squad yesterday with Gianluca Scamacca coming in to replace him.

Chiellini’s teammate Leonardo Bonucci is fit to play against Switzerland despite missing Juventus’ last Serie A match against Fiorentina.

Nicolò Barella is not fully fit and will be assessed by the Azzurri’s medical staff in the coming days.
