Former Juventus and Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini has arrived back in Italy following his retirement announcement on Tuesday afternoon and has revealed that he will return to the Allianz Stadium to watch his old club take on Roma at the end of the month.

Official confirmation arrived on Tuesday afternoon that the 39-year-old has called it a day on his playing career, drawing a 21-year career in the professional game to a close.

17 of those years were spent with Juventus, winning a staggering nine consecutive Serie A titles between 2012 and 2020.

Chiellini joined LAFC in the MLS in 2022, winning the MLS Cup in his first season. He and his teammates almost made it a double, but lost 2-1 to Columbus Crew in the final, three days before Chiellini’s retirement.

Now, he is back on home soil for a while, and is set to watch Juve again at the end of the month, before returning to Los Angeles.

TMW reporters asked him if he had any plans to speak to Juve coach Max Allegri, with rumours of a potential return to the club circulating.

Chiellini confirmed that he will see Allegri when he watches Juventus host Roma at the Allianz Stadium on December 30, the only home game before the end of the month.
