Giorgio Chiellini is back training with the full Italy squad ahead of the Euro 2020 Round of 16 against Austria, while Marco Verratti is preferred to Manuel Locatelli.

It kicks off on Saturday at 20.00 UK time at Wembley Stadium in London.

Juventus defender Chiellini started the first two group games, limping off against Switzerland with a muscular issue, and had been training separately ever since.

However, today for the first time he resumed working with the rest of the squad in a game between ranks.

Chiellini was, however, fielded in the ‘alternate’ team against a side with Leonardo Bonucci and Francesco Acerbi, so they are expected to be the starting centre-backs this weekend.

Alessandro Florenzi is also not 100 per cent fit, so Giovanni Di Lorenzo is set to take his place at right-back rather than Rafael Toloi.

The big decision is in midfield, with Verratti looking more and more likely to be picked ahead of Locatelli.

The rest of the line-up for Italy is practically guaranteed, with Domenico Berardi, Ciro Immobile and Lorenzo Insigne upfront.

Italy (probable): Donnarumma; Di Lorenzo, Acerbi, Bonucci, Spinazzola; Barella, Jorginho, Verratti; Berardi, Immobile, Insigne
