Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is preparing to shake up the club’s management in the summer and may turn to the recently retired Giorgio Chiellini.

The Bianconeri are expected to lose a few members of their management at the end of the season, with Giovanni Manna on track to take on the sporting director role at Napoli and Federico Cherubini a candidate for Parma, should Mauro Pederzoli’s contract not be renewed.

Giuntoli has already identified replacements for the Juventus backroom, looking to his Napoli right-hand man Giuseppe Pompilio and Pisa director Stefano Stefanelli. One thing that fans have been hoping for is the return of a former player following Pavel Nedved’s departure.

Chiellini call?

Page eight of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport details how Giuntoli is considering calling Chiellini in the coming months to offer him a backroom role at Juventus. The 39-year-old former defender hung up his boots in January and is currently working as a development coach with Los Angeles FC.

Chiellini would happily return to the Old Lady but would look for a role related to the finances and economics of the club, rather than a role in the scouting or transfer market departments.
