Juventus captain Giorgio Chiellini hopes agent Mino Raiola will ‘do us a favour and leave Matthijs de Ligt’ in Turin for a few more years, also comparing the Dutch defender to Thor.

DAZN continue to release snippets of their interview with Chiellini ahead of the full transmission this weekend.

The latest clip has the Italy international discussing his Bianconeri teammate De Ligt.

“He looks like Thor and I hope he can be the successor to the BBC defence,” said Chiellini, referring to his legendary combination with Leonardo Bonucci and Andrea Barzagli.

The former Ajax youth product cost €85.5m in the summer of 2019 and continues to earn transfer gossip with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid.

Chiellini acknowledges the vast interest in De Ligt and sends out an appeal to his agent, Mino Raiola.

“If he had been Italian, it would’ve been easier to keep hold of him for many years. I hope Mino can do us a favour and leave him in Turin for a few more years.

“He has gigantic muscles and legs, but the real difference is made in his mentality. De Ligt is 22 years old, but has the mind of a 30-year-old who still wants to improve himself every day.

“I adore him, having seen De Ligt both as an opponent and then a teammate. He’s really great.”

Despite only turning 22 in August, De Ligt already has 31 senior caps for the Netherlands, while he has made 84 competitive appearances for Juventus, scoring six goals and providing two assists.

The centre-back also has an excellent disciplinary record, with only 13 yellow cards.

  1. Leave the club ASAP. They are finishing in the Europa League Conference spot. Go to the PL, Bayern or any of the bigger clubs. Hell even beg Inter.
