Giorgio Chiellini had a positive debut with Los Angeles FC, playing an hour of their 2-1 away win over Nashville.

The 37-year-old Italian centre back started alongside Jesus Murillo in the LAFC backline last season, getting his first taste of action in the MLS following his free transfer earlier this month. Chiellini decided to make the move to America to have one last adventure before hanging up his boots.

With the game set at 2-1 at 60 minutes, Chiellini was brought off and replaced with Eddie Segura. Interestingly, another star signing made their debut for LAFC in the win over Nashville, with Gareth Bale coming on in the 72nd minute.

The Italian veteran adds an experienced and reliable defender to the LAFC backline and he’ll surely continue to prove his vintage qualities in the MLS.

Chiellini made 560 appearances across all competitions for Juventus, winning 19 major honours with the club.
