Giorgio Chiellini visited his former Juventus teammates in Los Angeles and assured he is ‘more convinced than ever I made the right decision’ moving to LAFC and MLS, though he can’t wait to see what Paul Pogba does.

The defender walked away after 17 years in Turin and international retirement to see out his career in Major League Soccer, where he has already made two appearances for LAFC.

With Juve currently in Los Angeles for their pre-season tour, Chiellini made a surprise visit to the squad at breakfast in their hotel.

He then sat down with the official Juventus Twitch account to discuss his experiences so far in America.

“We have a good squad here, it’s a big city, but still a good lifestyle. It’s a different atmosphere compared to in Italy, but I am trying to do things in the best way.

“I am more convinced than ever that I made the right decision and this helps me to enjoy the present while looking to the future. I am enjoying myself with enthusiasm and calm, and no regrets.”

The 37-year-old is still keeping a close eye on his old club and watched some of their 2-0 friendly win over Chivas.

“I watched the first half and then had to go to bed, but what I saw was impressive. Pogba is someone who brings so much enthusiasm and the team really needed that.

“It’s also good because the responsibility is spread out between the players. I hope Juve have a great season.”
