Giorgio Chiellini has arrived at Continassa for the meeting with Juventus, the rest of the Italy internationals return to training tomorrow.

The 36-year-old captain has returned after leading Italy to success at the Euros this summer and is expected to discuss his future at the club’s headquarters today.

Chiellini’s contract expired in June, but both the club and the player intend to continue together for another year.

The European champion hopes to play until the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and will have discussed terms and length of the new contract with the Bianconeri directors today.

Chiellini, who has played 535 competitive games with the Old Lady since his move from Fiorentina in 2005, arrived at Continassa today.

Reports suggested Chiellini was leaving the club this summer and move to MLS, but the return of Max Allegri changed his mind and he is now set to extend his stay with the Bianconeri.

The player hopes to play in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, but Juventus might not be prepared to offer the veteran a two-year deal.

The likes of Leonardo Bonucci, Federico Chiesa and Federico Bernardeschi have also arrived at Continassa and will begin their pre-season tomorrow.
