Giorgio Chiellini and Romelu Lukaku are among the 10 candidates for the 19th Golden Foot Award, following in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo.

It was Juventus star Ronaldo who won the trophy in 2020, in so doing getting a permanent mould of his footprints on the Champions Promenade, on the seafront of the Principality of Monaco.

The 10 nominees are drawn up by a panel of international journalists, then voted on by the general public in an online poll.

Players must be at least 28 years old and still active, but can only win it once.

The candidates for the 2021 award are Lionel Messi, Robert Lewandowski, Neymar, Mohamed Salah, Sergio Ramos, Sergio Aguero, Gerard Pique, Karim Benzema, Romelu Lukaku and Giorgio Chiellini.

Former Inter striker Lukaku has now joined Chelsea in a Serie A record €115m transfer, while Chiellini has just signed a new contract at Juventus.

Chiellini wore the captain’s armband as Italy won the UEFA EURO 2020 trophy at Wembley Stadium this summer.
