Former Italy and Juventus captain Giorgio Chiellini and his current side LAFC have booked their place in the MLS Cup final after being crowned Western Conference champions on Saturday night.

The Los Angeles outfit rose to a 2-0 victory over Houston Dynamo at their home BMO Stadium to progress to the final fixture in the MLS calendar.

Chiellini was heavily involved in LAFC’s opener against Houston on Saturday, powering a header goal bound from a corner for fellow defender Ryan Hollingshead to stab home from close range.

LAFC will now face Columbus Crew in the MLS Cup Final next Saturday, December 9.

For Chiellini, who moved to LA from Juventus in the summer of 2022, it will be a chance to win his second MLS Cup in as many years, having already been crowned the league champion in November 2022.
