Charles De Ketelaere and Rafael Leao were Milan‘s best players against Bologna, while Pierre Kalulu was even compared to club legend Franco Baresi.

The Rossoneri collected their second successive win at home, beating Bologna 2-0 on Saturday. Leao scored his first goal this season, assisted by new signing De Ketelaere, named MVP by Gazzetta and Il Corriere dello Sport newspaper.

However, all eyes were on the Portugal international, who has been linked with a move to Chelsea and had failed to impress in the first two games of the season against Udinese and Atalanta.

Leao and CDK got the same rating on Gazzetta (7.5/10). “Leao scored and helped the team when needed, showing glimpses of the real Leao. Chelsea, who?” asked the pink paper.

Il Corriere dello Sport wrote that ‘every time De Ketelaere touched the ball, he invented something exciting,’ rating him 7.5/10, the same as his teammate.

Tuttosport compared Kalulu to club legend Baresi. The Lyon defender almost got his name on the scoresheet at minute 26. He ran forward as the former Rossoneri captain used to do but failed to put the ball past Bologna goalkeeper Łukasz Skorupski.

  1. Kalulu, for me, has even surpa.ssed Tomori, and this is not something I say lightly. He has been the most impressive for quite some time now, and he’s only getting better and better. Give him a 6 year extension already.

    What a gem.

  2. Yeah, why everyone talks about chelsea when is about Pierre Kalulu has never been at chelsea…. Milan bought him from Lyon and he has a contract until 2025 and he is a full Ac Milan player

  3. Ex Chelsea? I think you mean Lyon. Either way he is outstanding. Probably Serie A best defender at present.
