Chelsea have contacted Sevilla over the availability of central defender Jules Kounde, according to local reports in Spain.

The Premier League side are in the market for a new defender and recent reports in Italy had suggested they were interested in Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt as well as Napoli‘s Kalidou Koulibaly.

However, ABC de Sevilla report Chelsea have made contact with the Andalusians over Kounde, who they were heavily linked with 12 months ago.

The report suggests the Stamford Bridge club have told Sevilla they are keen to “close the deal as soon as possible.”

Italian media have reported in recent days that De Ligt’s elevated price has put Chelsea off signing the Netherlands international, which is why they are seeking out alternatives.

Koulibaly is reportedly available as contracts talks with Napoli appear to be at a standstill and he has been linked with Chelsea but Thomas Tuchel’s side seem to be exploring all possibilities.

4 thought on “Chelsea turning to Koulibaly, De Ligt alternatives?”
  1. Send him to Man U. Sure he wants to reunite with his Ajax former friends Frenkie de Jong and Donny van de Beek. Man U always pays good money.

  2. Just sell to premier league whoever the teams, they still have more resources than juve
De ligt really has no fighting spirit like the past anymore

  3. Like how people think this is true, just chelsea trying to get to hurry and accept the initial offer on table – 40meuros plus pulisic – keep telling people chelsea fan base have already denounced khoulibaly as he’s too old for the new owners thr after younger players.
Juve need to be firm and ask for 100meuros minimum

  4. I guess Juve Will lower and accept anything from 50 tot 75 for de Ligt otherwise they Will bever het their money back….hè Just is niet that good ter Surely Koulibaly is netter and a rock de ligt is not even in starting eleven of dutch side anymore
