Mino Raiola has suggested that Matthijs de Ligt could leave Juventus at the end of the season, but who could the Dutchman join?

De Ligt signed for Juventus in an €85m deal from Ajax in 2019.

His contract at the Allianz Stadium expires in June 2024, but starting from next summer, he’ll have a €150m clause included in his contract.

It’s difficult to imagine anyone paying such a fee, especially with most European clubs having financial issues due to the COVID pandemic.

Reports in Italy suggest Juventus could be forced to sell their star to balance the books if they fail to qualify for the Champions League this season.

Raiola: ‘De Ligt ready for a new step’ beyond Juventus

But who could sign the Dutch defender?

Raiola said De Ligt was close to joining Bayern Munich before his move to Juventus. Barcelona were also on the lookout for the promising defender two years ago, before De Ligt completed his transfer to Turin.

However, the Catalans don’t seem to have the financial strength to get the Dutchman in the summer.

The player’s agent is on very good terms with Tottenham’s director Fabio Paratici, but it’s unrealistic to think about De Ligt’s move to North London if Spurs fail to snatch a top-four finish this season. He may also be looking for a direct contender for the Premier League title.

From Chelsea to Manchester City and United, any other English side could meet Juventus’ economic demands, same as PSG in France, or Real Madrid in Spain.

However, the Merengues have set their sights on a cheaper target as they are in pole position to get Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger as a free agent if the former Roma man doesn’t extend with the Blues.

  1. If Buffon would be playing for Juventus today, FAILBLOG Italia would have a running article titled “Madrid, Bayern, Chelsea, PSG, and even Barca ready to break the bank for Buffon”

This is how low PATHETIC FailBlog has sunk.

  2. So why you here dude???
No way anybody spends €150m on a CB these days. And please stop inserting Barca anywhere please. They can’t even afford to buy a Juve deligt jersey let alone the player. Nobody’s buying it.

  3. Financial crisis with every major team outside of the EPL due to their strong TV deal. I find it hard to believe someone will be dropping 150M. This is Raiola playing games. If Juve don’t make champions, watch De Ligt go out with a handful or Raiola clients come in. At the end of the day, Mino get’s richer.
