Chelsea have emerged with serious interest in Bologna coach Thiago Motta as they look for a replacement for Mauricio Pochettino, reports detail.

The Blues have not impressed this term under the former Tottenham and PSG coach, sitting ninth in the table with just a few weeks left in the Premier League season. The West London outfit will not qualify for European competition, a fact that hasn’t gone down well with fans.

On the other side of the coin, Thiago Motta has proven himself to be one of the most exciting up-and-coming coaches in world football, taking Bologna to the Champions League for the first time in their history. He has attracted attention from Milan and Juventus, looking likely to leave in the summer.
