Chelsea will reportedly have a new conference call with Juventus and Matthijs de Ligt to discuss the defender’s transfer to Stamford Bridge.

De Ligt is unwilling to sign a contract extension with Juventus and club CEO Maurizio Arrivabene confirmed last week that the Dutch centre-back wants to leave.

Chelsea have already opened talks with the Serie A giants, but their opening bid has been rejected. The Premier League giants had offered €40m plus Timo Werner or Christian Pulisic.

According to transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, a new conference call involving the three parties will take place soon.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported on Sunday that Chelsea have already made an improved bid for Juventus, putting €80m on the table. A new offer from the Blues has not been confirmed by any other source in Italy or England.

De Ligt has a €120m release clause included in his contract, but Juventus may start negotiations for a fee around €90-100m.

  1. This is the time to prove yourself juve board – we need at least 100m euros from him, and try and get this all paid in 3yrs

  2. Knowing the 7/9 CL runners up winners, they will under sell and make a loss. Not surprising as they no longer have Moggi or Marotta. From Paratici, to Paratici 2.0 and a failed Ferrari director, just bring back Don Alessio Secco to complete the circus act. Reheated leftover soup with Pogba, still no announcement regarding a 34 years young winger, literally no strikers, the same full backs and soon only 2 defenders. Meanwhile Inter have been adding like wildfire. At least the Dutch Phil Jones has experienced the ship sinking and wants out of PhD Max’s Victorian era slow ball.

  3. Latest new christiansen has signed for barcelona for free has his contract ended – suprised juve didnt actually go for him – he’s very good – considering bonucci is 35 and we kneed a bench centre back as rugani is poor
