According to reports in France, Chelsea are ready to offer Edouard Mendy plus cash for Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana, who is also a target for Manchester United.
The shot-stopper was picked up as a free agent last summer when his contract with Ajax ran down and has been a revelation, helping the Nerazzurri to win the Coppa Italia, the Supercoppa Italiana and reach the Champions League Final against Manchester City.
Cameroon international Onana has been linked with Manchester United as the natural heir to David De Gea.
However, Footmercato reporter Santi Aouna claims that Chelsea have set their sights on Onana, under the orders of new coach Mauricio Pochettino.
The proposal on the table is Mendy plus a cash sum to Inter in exchange for Onana.
Mendy has been battling all season for the gloves with Kepa Arrizabalaga and neither of them made the role their own.
It’s reported a significant part of this process has seen Mendy change his agent to Fali Ramadani, who does a great deal of business with Italian clubs.
However, Senegal international Mendy just turned 31, whereas Onana is considerably younger at 27.
