Chelsea are preparing their first formal offer for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, who remains on the Partenopei books despite being out of Antonio Conte’s first team plans at the Stadio Maradona.
Chelsea preparing Osimhen offer
Napoli have spent most of the summer attempting to find a buyer for Osimhen, who has a release clause in the region of €130m included in the contract that he re-negotiated last year.
Reports earlier in the summer suggested that the player was most keen on a move to Paris Saint-Germain, but the Parisians have not yet tabled an actual offer for the Nigerian. The 25-year-old has also been reluctant for Napoli to accept a recent €70m offer from Al-Ahli.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that PSG are still lurking on the scene, but Chelsea would like to beat the Parisians to the signing of Osimhen.
Though an exact figure has not been specified, Di Marzio suggests that Chelsea are ‘ready’ to send Napoli their first official offer for the 2022-23 Scudetto winner.
He ended the 2022-23 season as the leading goalscorer in Serie A, and played a key role in helping the team win their first league title in over 30 years.
