La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Romelu Lukaku is ready to take a pay cut to reunite with Antonio Conte at Napoli, but the Partenopei are still pushing for an agreement with the Blues.

Gazzetta reports that Lukaku wants to reunite with Conte at Napoli and is ready to cut his salary from €7.5m per year to €6m.

The pink paper confirms that the Partenopei have sent an opening €25m offer – plus €5m add-ons – to sign the Belgian, but Chelsea’s asking price is still €43m.

Chelsea outcast Lukaku agrees to take pay cut for Napoli and Conte

Previous reports claimed that Aston Villa were ready to match Chelsea’s asking price, but Lukaku only wanted to join Napoli and was waiting for the green light from the Blues.

Conte hopes to sign Lukaku before the start of the new season this weekend, regardless of the sale of Victor Osimhen. The Nigeria international hasn’t been involved in any pre-season game and wants to leave the Stadio Maradona.

According to Gazzetta, he may still be an option for Chelsea, especially after Samu Omorodion’s collapsed transfer, but at the moment, the Blues have not opened talks with Napoli.
