Talks between Napoli and Chelsea regarding a possible swap deal involving Victor Osimhen and Romelu Lukaku didn’t progress, keeping the door open for Arsenal.

The 25-year-old Nigerian star is widely expected to leave the Campania capital after an incredibly difficult post-Scudetto season, where he scored 15 goals across 25 Serie A appearances. He penned a new contract back in December that includes a €120-130m release clause.

In the meantime, Napoli are working on finalising the arrival of Antonio Conte, who is ready to sign a multi-year contract with the club. One player he is keen to work with again is Lukaku, who’ll return to West London after the conclusion of his loan spell with Roma.

Osimhen future

Gianluca Di Marzio details how talks regarding a possible Osimhen-Lukaku swap between Napoli and Chelsea didn’t progress, leaving the Blues in a tough spot should they wish to continue pursuing the striker.

The future of the Partenopei star is still unclear, but Arsenal are interested and things could develop in the coming weeks.
