Inter have been overjoyed with the progress of Denzel Dumfries at the World Cup but could be left between a rock and a hard place as Chelsea and Manchester United raise interest.

The 26-year-old Dutch wingback was kept quiet during the knock-out stages of the tournament at the World Cup but shone in the Netherlands’ Round of 16 clash with the US, scoring once and providing two assists to announce himself on the world stage.

Chelsea and Manchester United have already registered their interest in Dumfries and Inter’s financial situation is well-known, making a sale the likely eventual outcome.

As reported by Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi does not want to lose Dumfries in the upcoming January transfer window but the club need to find a solution for their financial situation.

Inter value the 26-year-old at €50m plus €10m in add-ons and it would be hard for them to reject an offer of this amount from either Chelsea or Manchester United should one arrive in January.
