Multiple sources in Italy state that there has been a genuine approach from the Premier League title holders for the left-back, who has also been linked with Juventus, Liverpool and Newcastle United.
According to Calciomercato.com, the offer is €20m including performance-related bonuses, whereas the demand from the Giallorossi is €20m plus another €5m in bonuses.
Mediaset Premium, on the other hand, maintains Chelsea are trying to sign the Brazilian-Italian on loan with an option to buy that would become mandatory after a certain number of appearances.
In both cases, this does not satisfy Roma’s demands and they will hold out for more, but the negotiations will continue.
