Chelsea are the new favourites to sign Adrien Rabiot from Juventus, ahead of Newcastle United, in the January transfer window.
The France international is on the market and one of the players that Max Allegri is most eager to move on mid-season to raise funds for other reinforcements in the middle of the park.
According to Calciomercato.it, Rabiot is only prepared to leave for a club that is in the Champions League, so is prepared to reject Newcastle United.
Instead, Chelsea are now showing an interest and have become the sudden favourites for his signature.
He would be the replacement for Saul Niguez, who is heading back towards Atletico Madrid after failing to make an impact at Stamford Bridge.
Rabiot was picked up as a free agent when his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired in 2019.
The 26-year-old is a weight on the Juventus books not so much for his transfer fee as his salary.
