Jose Mourinho AS Roma v Feyenoord - UEFA Europa Conference League Final 2021/22

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba joined thousands of Roma fans commenting on José Mourinho’s Instagram post following his sacking: ‘Forever the Maestro.’

Mourinho was fired by Roma on Tuesday morning and replaced with club legend Daniele De Rossi.

Multiple sources claim it was a largely unexpected decision that club owner Dan Friedkin announced to the players and the staff members at Trigoria on Tuesday morning.

Despite Roma’s poor results in Serie A which left the Giallorossi ninth in the Serie A table this term, most supporters backed the Special One and were disappointed by the decision to sack him.

Love from Roma fans was proved by the thousands of comments Mourinho received on his Instagram post, which he used to bid farewell to the club and their supporters.

It received nearly one million likes, and almost every one of the over 55,000 comments praised the Special One.

Among them was Chelsea legend Drogba, who wrote: “Grande @josemourinho forever the Maestro.”

The Ivorian legend scored 73 goals in 186 appearances under the Portuguese tactician at Stamford Bridge.
