According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Chelsea are leading the race to sign Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt.

The Dutch international’s contract runs out in June 2024 and the Bianconeri are in talks to extend his stay at the club. De Ligt has refused to commit his future to the club and revealed last week that no agreement with the club has been reached yet.

He has a €120m clause included in his contract, which will raise to €140m next season. De Ligt wants a lower release clause, but according to Il Corriere dello Sport, negotiations between the player and the Serie A giants have now been put on hold.

Chelsea are on the lookout for a new centre-back in the summer as the Premier League giants need to replace Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

Many other top clubs are monitoring De Ligt, including Liverpool, PSG and Manchester United, but the Red Devils can’t offer Champions League football to the former Ajax captain.

Juventus haven’t received any offer so far but may consider selling De Ligt in the summer if the defender refuses to sign a contract extension.

If they keep hold of him for one more year, his price tag will decrease in 2023, with just one year left in his contract at the Allianz Stadium.

  1. If juve want to gamble like the old case with zidane just sell him
De ligt just a player with overrated from media nowhere near koulibaly/van dijk/skriniar/chiellini

  2. I think he could be sacrified for and Juventus can go for Bastoni or Pau Torres. Juve already has Gatti and other right footed young defender like Dragusin.

Juventus center backs should be: Right footed: Bonucci, Gatti and Rugani. Left footed: Bastoni or Pau Torres and Romagnoli.

Romagnoli and Rugani played togheter before and did it very well, plus they have eperience.

  3. Nuts to think you can win anything with Rugani and Romagnoli as your centerbacks. Especially in Europe where their lack of pace will be caught out.

  4. Sell him and get two stars. He’s over valued. No one seems to want to sign for free for juve they need to fund the market

  5. Yes sell like we sold Zidane and then buy the same quality of player as the Zidane transfer fee bought us back then: Buffon, Nedved, Thuram……….it’s free to dream.

  6. Romagnoli is being left by Milan because of his lack of pace. They are not renewing the captain because he’s slow. Please,do is Milanisri a favor and build the Juve defence around Romagnoli. I liked the feeling of winning, I’ll happily keep doing that.

Suning will sell Inter piece by piece and destroy 5he club, thankfully, so we don’t have to worry too much about Inzaghi’s squad leftovers… Lukaku may come back, but at what cost? Bastoni? Skriniar? Lautaro?

Perisic is already gone. – Who will open the scoring for them now?

  7. No way Liverpool are in for him, especially given his wages. Virgil has more good years in him and Konate will be his partner.

  8. Tom, maybe u exchanged juve with ur crap Club. Angelli is one of the richest football owners.

These juventus experts on fif xD

  9. Good move for all parties. The Dutch Phil Jones might learn how to defend from a greater coach and Juventus can get the money. The Cigarettte Sales girl can then save or waste the money. Montero might be eager to come out of retirement. After all he is only 50 years young just how PhD Max likes it. Perhaps they can also go for Acerbi and Romagnoli. All the big clubs in Europe are on the move. Haaland gone. Nunez gone. Tchouameni gone. This small European club cannot even get a deal for a 34 years young winger to sign.

  10. Donato totaro – we haven’t been winning anything with de ligt and Chiellini and Bonucci. Why not try it out, it’s not like spending all this money has made us better

  11. 1. He won’t bcome a great defender like Chiellini or Bonucci; AND 2. He clearly isn’t willing to reciprocate Juve’s efforts to build a long relationship. Sell him for 100+ and move on. Never had the Bianconeri DNA in him.

  12. + you save 10m in wages a year, so be done with him.
(that 10m could have paid for dybala)

imagine chiesa, dybala amd vlaohvic – pogba behind in midfield
