Chelsea: €40-50m for Romagnoli

Chelsea are expected to make a monster offer for Milan's Alessio Romagnoli, probably between €40m and €50m.

Antonio Conte's club is on a mission to sign the young central defender, although the Rossoneri seem reluctant to sell him.

An offer is expected from the Premier League club today, with the Corriere della Sera claiming it will amount to €40m, and the Repubblica stating it will be €45m plus €5m in bonuses.

In spite of Milan's resistance to sell the player, an offer of that magnitude would lead Silvio Berlusconi to consult with the new Chinese ownership and consider a sale.

The alternatives to Romagnoli would be Villareal's Mateo Musacchio or Fiorentina's Milan Badelj.

Among the reasons Milan would rather not sell the player is a clause in the original deal with Roma, which means 30 per cent of any of the profit above the original €25m spent for the player's acquisition would have to be turned over to the club from the capital.
