The Germany international sees his contract expire at the end of the season and there are reports that Juventus have jumped to the front of the queue to secure his services in July.

Rudiger is available to sign a pre-contract agreement ahead of a free transfer at the end of the campaign. The former Roma defender spoke to Sky Sport Italia after Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Lille last night and refused to rule out a return to Italy.

“At the moment I am here, I am happy here, we’ll see, we’ll see…” he said.

Rudiger replied to questions in English but also added a word in Italian: ‘magari’, which translates into ‘perhaps’ or ‘hopefully.’

The 29-year-old played 72 games during his two-year spell at Roma. He joined Chelsea in the summer of 2017 and has played 161 games with the Blues, where he played under two Italian coaches: Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sarri.
