Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah refuses to rule out a move to Serie A: ‘The league is growing, I am still a Chelsea player, but you never know.’

The England international has been monitored by Inter and Milan and is believed to be among the players Chelsea are open to selling during the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old is currently in Italy for the Milan Fashion Week and discussed his plans with Sky Sport Italia on Monday. Chalobah was asked if he’ll consider a move to Serie A once his time at Stamford Bridge is over.

“I don’t know what the future holds. I played in France as well, in England, and you never know. Italy is a nice country,” he replied.

“When you play in a new destination, it’s something for a player to experience for himself. Italy is very beautiful as well. Obviously, I am still a Chelsea player, but you never know. I like here in Italy, the weather is good, the people are nice, food is good, I am enjoying my time here.”

The 23-year-old’s current deal at Stamford Bridge runs out in June 2028. He signed a contract extension with the Blues this past November but the Premier League side have changed three coaches since, Bruno Saltor, Frank Lampard and Mauricio Pochettino.

Chalobah was also asked his thoughts on Serie A, especially after seeing Italian clubs reach three European finals in 2022-23.

“I watched all those games, they are really strong teams, the league is growing and the teams are really good. Think they are all very strong,” the defender concluded.
