Chelsea are reportedly prepared to let Romelu Lukaku return to Inter for a maximum of €10m, though the Nerazzurri are trying to haggle it down to €5m.
According to Sky Sports UK and Sky Sport Italia, the negotiations began in earnest today and the gap between demand and offer is really not that big.
The proposal is for a one-season loan at a cost of €5m, whereas the Premier League giants are prepared to accept €10m.
That is much less than the originally suggested €24m that Chelsea needed to not make a loss for the 2022-23 season.
It’s remarkable considering the striker was sold to Chelsea last summer for €113m, but aided by Lukaku’s willingness to half his salary in order to push the transfer through.
Chelsea also realise that the Belgium international is not happy or suited to manager Thomas Tuchel’s tactics and, at the age of 29, risks further losing value on the transfer market for any future move.
Sportitalia and Sky Sport Italia are also confident Inter want to sign both Lukaku and free agent Paulo Dybala, while keeping hitman Lautaro Martinez.

Silly hahaha
Just give 10m. It’s nothing. 😛
Cut it in half and give them 7.5 million
