Reports continue to circulate that Chelsea will turn to Inter defender Milan Skriniar after losing Jules Koundé to Barcelona, as PSG won’t meet the €70m asking price.

The centre-back remains in the thick of this summer’s transfer gossip, as he is one of the prime candidates who could be sold to raise funds at San Siro.

He had been in advanced negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain, even agreeing personal terms, but the club never managed to get close to Inter’s €70m price-tag.

Now the Ligue 1 side could face competition from Chelsea, who need a defender after seeing Barcelona snatch Sevilla star Koundé from under their noses.

It’s reported in Spain that Chelsea offered more to the player, but he hesitated giving a response and was holding out for the Blaugrana.

Chelsea had already asked about Skriniar during the negotiations for Romelu Lukaku’s return to Inter, so it is not an entirely new avenue for them.

It also comes after suggestions that Skriniar could request a raise on the previously agreed contract extension as a result of the interest from PSG, Tottenham Hotspur and others.

  1. They need to sell to even the books. He’ll probably leave toward the end of August for about 60 mil. Inter is playing the waiting game but other clubs know they have to sell.

  2. DB Milan.

They had a lot of deadwood on their books on really high wages. With the new FFP ruling coming in, they’re needing to shed before adding new players. That’s why they’re apparently looking to get rid of Neymar as well.

  3. This will hurt inter very badly 🙂 :), to be honest either way if the sell or not, acerbi the replacement 🙂 🙂 🙂

  4. @MOHAMMED Hate to say it but you’re right. This is the same thing that happened last season when they sold Lukaku and got Dzeko as replacement. This is what will continue to happen with Suning while they remain in control. They will drag Inter down with them.
