Inter have set the price-tag for Cesare Casadei at €15m plus €5m in bonuses, and it’s reported Chelsea are getting close to that figure, using this deal to pave the way for Romelu Lukaku’s future at San Siro.

The bidding war for the 19-year-old midfielder seems to have been whittled down to just one club, because Sky Sport Italia maintain that OGC Nice and Sassuolo are now out of the running.

It is purely a situation between Inter and Chelsea, with the Stamford Bridge side edging closer to the asking price of  €15m plus another €5m in add-ons.

That would be enough for the Nerazzurri to let the youth product leave permanently, without asking for a buy-back clause.

Sportitalia also note that this deal could be used to help Inter secure the permanent return of Lukaku to San Siro.

The striker was sold last summer for €113m and returned a year later on loan for €10m, but all the parties want to make this a long-term transfer.

These are all helping to set the scene for a renewal of the Lukaku loan and eventually helping to lower the cost of a return to San Siro.

  1. Good old Inter ditching every youth player they have.

I suppose it’ll help fund the next short-term has-been signing on huge wages.

  2. Casadei would’ve been a better option over Mhikitarayan and Calhanoglu. First Zaniolo and now Casadei to be gone. Where is the faith in Italian youth? Imagine in the midfield 5 consisting of Dimarco, Casadei, Sensi, Barella and Bellanova.

Instead Inter always like to use lousy foreigners..

  3. The inter negotiators for this deal are sick, how would allow such talent to go without a buyback option???
