Inter have rejected an offer worth €100m plus Marcos Alonso from Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku, claim Sky Sport Italia, but it’s not over yet.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Fabrizio Biasin, and other Sky Sport Italia reporters this evening, the proposal was worth a whopping €100m plus the ownership of wing-back Alonso.

This too was turned down, but it might not be the end of the matter, because Chelsea are reaching the limits of what Inter are prepared to give up at this stage.

Their financial issues are well known, yet the Nerazzurri are determined to keep hold of their most representative player, who was absolutely decisive in the Scudetto run.

Once Chelsea’s bid reaches circa €130m between cash and players, that’s when Inter will begin to really wobble, claim La Repubblica and Sky Sport Italia.

At this stage, the club would open it up to Lukaku and ask the Belgium international what he wants to do.

Currently, Lukaku has absolutely no intention of leaving Inter, having found the form of his life and really enjoying his football in Italy with 24 goals in 36 Serie A appearances last season.

He already had an experience at Chelsea, but they didn’t give him the support that he needed to truly flourish, the kind he found at San Siro.

If Inter are to sell one of their strikers this summer, it would be Lautaro Martinez, as his contract is running down to June 2023 and his agent has not agreed an extension.
