Juventus and Roma’s recent results in the Europa League have had a knock-on effect on the 36th round of Serie A fixtures scheduled for this week and both team’s matches will now be pushed back.

Juventus were due to face Empoli at the Castellani on Monday, May 22 at 19.45 UK time, which has now been pushed back by 24 hours and will be played on Tuesday night instead.

Meanwhile Roma, who were due to line up against Salernitana at the Stadio Olimpico at 17.30 on Monday evening, will now have their game pushed back to fill the 19.45 slot left vacant by Juventus.

The Roma clash was also meant to be postponed until Tuesday, however that was not a viable option given that the Stadio Olimpico is in use on Wednesday for the Coppa Italia final between Inter and Fiorentina.

Roma, currently sixth in the table, are in particular need of a good result in the league if they are to keep their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League alive, unless, of course, they defeat Sevilla in the final of the Europa League.

Meanwhile, Juventus are currently sitting comfortably in second place on 69 points, although that could still change before the end of the season.
