Inter have been drawn against Ajax and Juventus will face Sporting CP in the Champions League Round of 16 while Leo Messi and Gigio Donnarumma’s PSG will cross paths with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Manchester United.

Juventus were among the eight seeded clubs in the Champions League Round of 16 draw. That meant they would pick their opponent in the Round of 16 among the group runners-up.

Massimiliano Allegri’s men were drawn against Sporting CP. The Portuguese side had finished second behind Ajax in Group C, a group that eventually had a strong connection with Serie A.

The Lancers, in fact, were drawn against Simone Inzaghi’s Inter.

The Nerazzurri, now Serie A leaders, lost both games against Real Madrid during the group stage but collected ten points in six matches, three more than Sheriff, qualifying for the knock-out phase for the first time in ten years.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side will face Benfica, while the most awaited game of the Round of 16 will be the one between Cristiano Ronaldo’s Manchester United and Leo Messi’s PSG.

UPDATE: Caos at UEFA, the Champions League draw will be entirely redone due to a ‘technical problem with the software of an external service provider.’ Find out more HERE.

3 thought on “Champions League Round of 16: Inter-Ajax, Sporting-Juve, Messi and Donnarumma against Ronaldo”
  1. I am very sorry for Cristiano. Maybe Bayern will take him next summer, if he pays them 50 million a year?

  2. Interesting draw, but at this stage, largely predictable.

The epl teams got an easy enough draw in the CL, with only MU in trouble. But PSG are nothing special either.

Inter will be happy with the draw, but Ajaz did well in the (albeit) weaker group. If Inter aren’t focused, expect Ajax to cause an upset.

Juve got the draw they would have wanted, and although this is their worst squad in years, they’ll be favourites to go through.

    My last 8 would be: R Madrid – Man City – Bayern – Liverpool – Inter – Juventus – Chelsea – PSG

The EL draw was tough, with only Atalanta being favourites. But Barca are a mess, and Napoli will fancy their chances like never before. If Napoli have their best 11, they could knock Barca out. Can’t see Lazio knocking out Porto – they’re just too weak overall.

Along with Roma through, we have a good chance of 5 Serie A teams in the nest stage.
