Maurizio Sarri is still short of options in defence so Patric and Mario Gila are set to start at centre-back against Celtic, while captain Ciro Immobile is the designated striker at the Stadio Olimpico.

It kicks off at 17:45 and it’s a must-win for the Biancocelesti who sit second in the Champions League Group E but will visit Atletico Madrid in the final group stage game in two weeks.

Pressure is running high at the Stadio Olimpico as Lazio have had a terrible start to the season in Serie A collecting just 17 points in 13 matches.

Alessio Romagnoli, Nicolò Casale and Mattia Zaccagni are injured against Celtic while Matias Vecino is suspended. Ivan Provedel has a fever and didn’t train on Monday. He is still expected to start, but Luigi Sepe is ready to replace his compatriot between the sticks if needed.

Patric and Gila are set to start in central defence and Danilo Cataldi is favourite over Nicolò Rovella as a deep-lying playmaker. Pedro is expected to replace Zaccagni as a left winger.

Elseid Hysaj could replace Adam Marusic as a left-back with Manuel Lazzari on the opposite flank.

Celtic’s Daizen Maeda and Luis Palma are suspended, Liel Abada and Reo Hatate are not available.
