Mediapro CEO Jaume Roures reveals discussions are taking place to hold a future Champions League final in New York.
The Spanish league has already agreed to host matches in the United States, with Girona’s match with Barcelona scheduled to be played in Florida on January 27.
“We’re in negotiations to host a Champions League final in New York,” Roures revealed on Radio Catalunya.
“Girona-Barcelona? We’re still negotiating, but it would be very positive, especially for Girona.

“They were promoted to the top league for the first time just a season ago, but they’d be talking about Girona all around the world for 15 days. It would also help the image of La Liga around the world.”
The first possible Champions League final that could be played in the States would be 2021, as Madrid and Istanbul have already been chosen to host the next two.
