Sky Sport claims Lecce have opened talks with Celtic Glasgow over a potential loan move for Gustaf Lagerbielke.

The Salentini need defensive reinforcements as Ahmed Touba’s involvement in the AFCON this month, leaves Federico Baschirotto and Marin Pongracic as the only two reliable options for Roberto D’Aversa in central defence.

Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio claims Lecce have enquired about a dry loan deal for Celtic defender Lagerbielke. This means the 23-year-old would remain on loan at the Stadio Via Del Mare until June 2024, returning to Scotland at the end of the season.

The report claims Celtic are open to sending the promising centre-back out on loan, but negotiations are ‘not easy’ as the signing of Lagerbielke, despite being temporary, would be quite expensive for Lecce.

Lagerbielke has made nine appearances across all competitions this season, scoring one goal in a Champions League meeting with Feyenoord this past December.

He made his senior Sweden debut in January 2023 and scored one goal in two appearances with his national team.
