The Czech international has been displaced in manager Jose Mourinho’s team this season by Thibaut Courtois, and has been linked with Roma and Arsenal.
According to Corriere dello Sport, however, Inter have lost patience with current ‘keeper Samir Handanovic’s indecision over a new contract, and are close to bringing in Cech.
The 32-year-old would sign a two-year deal and become the Nerazzurri’s first choice between the posts, with an option of a third year.
The newspaper insists the deal is almost complete, and all that is required is the consent of Mourinho.
The sports daily believes the move has come as a result of Handanovic’s contract situation, who was reportedly offered a two year deal on €2.2m per season but is holding out for €3m.
It’s also thought that the Slovenian international was unsure about committing to a new deal without assurances of Champions League football.
