According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Chelsea have asked Inter to include Nicolò Barella in a swap deal for Romelu Lukaku.

The Nerazzurri want to keep the Belgian striker at San Siro and are interested in the Blues’ defender Kalidou Koulibaly.

The first meeting between the two clubs took place in London this week, but no agreement has yet been reached.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Chelsea demanded to include Barella in a swap deal for Lukaku, but Inter don’t want to part ways with the Italy international.

Chelsea’s plan is to send Lukaku to Inter permanently, but the Nerazzurri are looking for a new loan. The 30-year-old is eager to remain at the Stadio Meazza despite Chelsea’s appointment of Mauricio Pochettino.

Talks between the two cubs will continue in the coming weeks. Newcastle are also said to be interested in Barella, but Inter want to keep the Italian at San Siro, especially with a contract expiring in June 2026.

  1. Inter should’ve kept Casadei and Sensi. Imagine having Barella, Sensi, Casadei and Frattesi as midfield options. They would be stupid to get rid of Barella..
