Uruguayan international striker Edinson Cavani still believes in the project at ambitious Napoli.

The centre-forward is one of the continent’s most respected players which has fuelled transfer talk.

However, speaking with the Corriere dello Sport on Friday, the South American suggested that he’ll still be at the San Paolo next term.

“Coach Walter Mazzarri has done some fine work here by creating a great squad and the club are doing some excellent things,” he stated.

“We are still targeting the very top and I think we’ll be able to go really far next season.”

The 25-year-old, signed from Palermo in 2010, has scored 19 goals in 28 Serie A appearances so far this term.

Napoli, who reached the last 16 of the Champions League this season, are currently fourth in the Division – three points adrift of the last European Cup qualifying spot.
