Edinson Cavani admits the constant transfer speculation “is disturbing me” ahead of Uruguay’s match with Italy.

The Napoli striker is expected to start on Sunday in Salvador, as the teams face off for third place in the Confederations Cup. It kicks off at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).

“My future? Too many things have been said over the last few days, so it is best to just stay quiet,” he said in his Press conference.

“At the start I wasn’t bothered by all the speculation, but I have to admit now it is disturbing me. I want to focus on Uruguay and this match.”

There were reports in Sport Mediaset today that Chelsea had agreed personal terms with Cavani.

The club is not willing to pay the full €63m buy-out clause in his contract, so he’d have to convince Napoli to lower their price-tag.
