Catania will keep Maxi Lopez

Catania transfer chief Pietro Lo Monaco has had enough of the Maxi Lopez transfer rumours. "He's not moving."

The Argentine was thought to be a January target for Juventus, amongst others, and the Sicilian club initially seemed willing to listen to offers.

But after being questioned on the subject yet again, Lo Monaco has suggested that the striker is going nowhere.

"Let's end this Maxi Lopez story, it's just stupid," the official said. "He is not moving away from Catania.

"Let's end this Maxi Lopez story, it's just stupid," the official said. "He is not moving away from Catania.

"He needs to just worry about doing well with us.

"Lopez has the qualities of a great footballer and he could play for a big team, but for now we are keeping him at Catania."
