Catania unsure over Simeone

Catania have yet to decide whether Diego Simeone will be kept on as Coach for the 2011-12 campaign.

The Argentine replaced Marco Giampaolo earlier on this season, but he's found Serie A life tough on the bench so far.

Catania chief executive Pietro Lo Monaco was today questioned on Simeone's future, but he left the door open for all possibilities.

"The last thing I am thinking about right now is the transfer market," Lo Monaco said ahead of this weekend's derby with Palermo.

"Right now, Coaches and players do not interest me.

"When the right time comes we will evaluate the performance of Simeone and decide whether to continue with our relationship or not.

"For now all that matters is to reach our objective and then we will see."

Catania's aim for the campaign is to avoid relegation to Serie B. They are currently 15th in the standings, four points above the drop zone.
