"Silvestre is the best defender in Serie A behind Thiago Silva of Milan," Catania director Pietro Lo Monaco noted.
"We are discussing him with a number of different clubs, but one in particular. If I were interested in him then I wouldn't let him escape."
Silvestre is an Argentine defender, while fellow countryman Maxi Lopez is a striker of some substance.
"He is happy here with us," Lo Monaco noted of the former Barcelona forward. "He's done well for Catania in his 15 months here.
"If no one offers us what he is worth then he will remain with us."
